Although the Nokia N-Gage wasn’t the best selling device of its time, it was even labelled a commercial failure but some dedicated fans still loved it. The Nokia N-Gage can be said to be the first commercially available gaming smartphone back in 2003 and offered some interesting titles. Fans who have long been waiting for a Symbian emulator to play their favourite N-Gage games can now play N-Gage title on their Android devices.
A developer with the name Play Software recently published a Symbian emulator called EKA2L1 on the Google Play Store allowing fans to run their N-Gage titles on Android smartphones. According to developer Play Software, the emulator supports Nokia’s ill-fated taco phone as well as Symbian S60v1, S60v3, and S60v5.
According to users review, the EKA2L1 emulator supports “almost all” the titles released on the original N-Gage, games such as the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Splinter Cell: Team Stealth Action, Pathway to Glory, Red Faction, Call of Duty and several others.
As a fan who wants to try the old N-Gage titles, you’d expect the emulator to run any game you throw at it without any additional setup. Well, I hate to break it to you that the setup is a bit complicated but its nothing you can’t handle. After downloading the EKA2L1 Symbian emulator from the Google Play Store, you’ll need to also download then the system files for the Symbian devices you intend to emulate.
