3 Reason’s You Should Stop Looking Down On Android Go Smartphones Like Tecno Spark 2

3 Reasons Nigerians Should Stop Looking Down On Android Go Smartphones Like The Spark 2

Following the release of Tecno spark 2 which is powered by the much talked about Android Go, there have been series of reactions from Smartphone Users. While a microscopic few were OK with the device, unsatisfactory comments were all over the place and as a matter of fact, I personally gave the device a very big backlash here in the review just a few days ago.

Most criticisms were based on the fact that Tecno was doing a lot of budget phones. No 4G, No fast charge, 1GB RAM, the processor is also mid-range in the year 2018?? And to make matters worse, it is the successor of a certain phone that is almost equal to it. Like the pro edition of the Spark 1, just the android version and a few other things alone set them apart.

But even if a device like the Tecno spark 2 ( with Android GO) doesn’t have all these features aforementioned, it might be wise to give it a second look. And this is because it has the Android Go edition of Oreo running. I’ve tested out a couple of Android Go phones and they’re nothing short of amazing.

One key thing that will help us see things differently as regards budget phones that runs an Android O.S with Android GO is to Understand Android GO itself, understand its purpose and also understand the way it operates.

So what is Android GO?

Android Go, also known as Android Oreo (Go edition), is a stripped-down version of Android designed to run on entry-level smartphones. It’s comprised of three optimized areas, the operating system, Google Play Store, and Google apps. Just to provide a better experience on lesser hardware. Android authority.

With all these optimizations, there would be no much burden on the poor device.

In Summation, Android Go was made for cheap smartphones like this. Don’t be surprised if the successor of the Tecno Camon X is just 512 MB RAM if android GO is on it. Just kidding though:-).

It’s quite important that you understand that a smartphone with 1GB RAM running on Android Go is faster and more efficient than one running on the regular Android O.S

3 Reason’s You Should Stop Looking Down On Android Go Smartphones

1. It Provides Better Optimization

Android Go was created mainly because of this. To give low-end users the same experience as mid/high-end users. This optimization is embedded throughout the device, from app management to battery management and even to data usage control.

We all know that improvements to battery life come on every update on Android and Android Go starts off with Oreo 8.1.

The O.S detects apps that are using the battery and terminates them once they have been idle to save you more power.

2. Regular Software Updates

If you’re on a low budget and you’re not a fan of the “need an upgrade, buy a new one” style of marketing that a couple of brands do on their regular smartphones then Android Go is probably the best choice for you.

There’s no bloatware pre-installed in the device. There’s no custom UI that’ll make the OEM waste time trying to redesign the software for its own version of Go.

On Android Go, you’ll get a stock Android experience and you’re certain that you’ll receive regular software updates. They may even receive the Android P update.

3. Saves Data Efficiently

Google has looked into the fact that the regular Android OS uses up a lot of data. So they have optimized the preinstalled apps on Android Go smartphones to be lightweight. A lot of other apps have also launched their Go version just like Gmail Go, Youtube Go and so on.

The data saver feature works on all the apps on the device. Even the Google Play on the device is optimized to use fewer data. You don’t have to worry about bloatware on Go devices as everything has been optimized.
