9mobile has joined MTN in the eSIM technology train has it launch eSIM service on it network in Nigeria. This is coming after MTN Nigeria launched its eSIM services in Nigeria last month.
With MTN and 9mobile on the eSIM train, it’s only a matter of time before Airtel and the grandmaster of data Glo launch their own eSIM service.
Although the eSIM technology can only be found on premium device at the moment, maybe not now, but sooner a lot of smartphones will begin to ship with this technology irrespective of the phone category. The eSIM service will gradually replace the traditional physical plastic SIM cards, plus it comes with a lots of benefits too.

Note: Those who want to change to an eSIM will have to do a SIM swap at the select Experience Centre and customers who wants to swap back to traditional SIM will need to visit the service center for a physical SIM card.
