Apple iPhone X Plus could be announced earlier than usual

Earlier in the year, rumors as regards the follow up on the iPhone X cited that LG will be providing Apple’s OLED displays for Apple next flagship device, iPhone X Plus. Even though Apple depended on Samsung lately, a change is set to occur. However, Samsung will still continue to supply OLED panels for the 2018 5.8-inch or 6-inch iPhone X models.

A 6.5 inches iPhone X plus?

Some phone leaks recently posted on MacX have come to back up those claims. Although images have now been removed, they show a digitizer and a screen with the poster claiming the parts came from a “trial run of production equipment” at an LG facility in Vietnam. This looks slightly bigger compared to the iPhone and should be about 6.5 inches.

Also, late last year Ming-chi-kuo one of the very reliable Apple analysts, predicted that the company would deliver three models of iPhones in 2018. A second generation iPhone X with the same 5.8Inch OLED, a larger ‘iPhone X plus’ with a 6.5 inch OLED display, and a new LCD-based model with a similar full face display to the iPhone X design but measuring about 6.1 inches.

Under the digitizer is a flex cable and printed on the cable is a part number. This set of numbers are said to be similar to the format typically used by Apple.

iPhone X plus to be announced before September?

Saying this is an iPhone X plus is a very safe guess. Everything seems to add up and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see iPhone X plus announced soon. Apple schedules announcement for the latter part of the year, September in most cases. What we do know is that Apple will be launching new phones this year, what it would be is the big question.
