How About Having Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp And Instagram In One Place?

Report: Facebook Plans To Integrate WhatsApp, Messenger, And Instagram

The well-known social networking and social media network, of course Facebook is now planning to integrate it Messenger app, Instagram and WhatsApp Messenger according to a recent report by The New York Times. The integration of this Facebook-owned services will bring about the creation of a large ecosystem where it users can interact with each other using any of the services.

According to the report, each app will continue to operate independently, however with the integration, users won’t have to leave an app to interact with the users on the other app. This means that users will be able to receive and send messages to someone on WhatsApp from the Messenger app or Instagram with full end to end encryption.

“We’re working on making more of our messaging products end-to-end encrypted and considering ways to make it easier to reach friends and family across networks. As you would expect, there is a lot of discussion and debate as we begin the long process of figuring out all the details of how this will work.” according a Facebook’s spokesperson.

The work to merge all three services (Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram) has already begun, according to NYT, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 or early next year.

By integrating all these apps, Facebook wants to build a large ecosystem for users thereby offering seamless messaging and also increase engagement across the apps.

While it seems to be a good development, this will also mean that Facebook would be able to fetch more data from it users and use targeted ads in its walled garden of the services.
