There are two methods to sharing your Android VPN connection with your PC using the Pdanet app wired (via USB cable) and wireless.

Method 1. How to tether Android VPN Internet Connection With PC (Wired)

To share your Android internet connection over VPN with PC using the wired method you will need; a USB Cable, Internet Connection, PdaNet app for Android and PC.

Step 1: Turn on USB-debugging option on your Android device. You can do that in your phone’s developer option which can be found in the settings app. If you can’t find developer option in your settings, simply navigate to the about phone section of your device settings and tap on your device build number seven times to enable the developer option.

Step 2: Now, download the PdaNet app for PC. Once the download is complete, double-click on the app icon to launch the setup wizard and follow the on-screen instructions to install.

Step 3: Download and install the PdaNet app for Android on your device. Once the installation is complete, connect your device to your PC and launch the Pdanet app.

Step 4: On the Pdanet app, tick the USB Tether option. Next, go to the notification tray on your PC, tap on the Pdanet tray icon and click on the Connect Internet (USB) option.

Method 2. How to tether Android VPN Internet Connection With PC Wirelessly

To share your VPN hotspot wirelessly with your PC, we will be setting up a WiFi direct hotspot using the Pdanet app. This method also requires the PC version of the Pdanet app to be running for it to work properly.

Step 1. Launch the Pdanet app on your Android device and enable the WiFi direct hotspot option. You will get a prompt saying WiFi connection is required to setup a connection enable your phone’s WiFi.

Step 2. On activating the WiFi direct hotspot, you will get a WiFi direct hotspot details that you can connect to on your PC. Copy the hotspot password generated and proceed to the nest step.

Step 3. On your PC, tap on the network icon, you will see the newly created WiFi direct hotspot display under available network, tap on the network name and enter the password you copied earlier.

Step 4. Once your PC has connected to the network, the Pdanet app for PC will then authenticate the network and make sure it is connected.

Other Apps Used To Share Android VPN Internet Connection To PC

VPN hotspot (Root)

This app is arguably the best root app for sharing a VPN hotspot connection with any device whether a PC or a mart device device such as a phone, tablet, iPhone etc. To enjoy the full potential of this app, your Android device which in this case is the host device need to be rooted.

If you don’t have root on your device, VPN hotspot also allows you share your connection using USB and Bluetooth tethering. The app setup is simple an straight forward and doesn’t require any special permission.

VPN tether (Root)

This app is similar to the VPN hotspot app, it has a simple interface and doesn’t require any special setup. All you need is a rooted device and you can share your VPN internet connection with as many devices you like.

If your device is not rooted you can still enjoy this app by donating a small fund to the developers. You can as well say you are buying a premium version of the app that does not require root permission for maximum functionality.

NetShare

Unlike the VPN hotspot and tether app, Netshare comes has a free and paid app in the Google Playstore. The free version does not require root privileges on your device to share your internet connection with others but it comes with limited features. To unlock the full version of the app, you have to pay for the Pro key app.
