Infinix hits the market with the latest Hot S Series, the first Infinix Android with Android Oreo out of the box. This is also the first to run an Android Snapdragon processor. If you ask me, I will say Infinix Hot S3 is not the best device in the smartphone market right now but it should be regarded an Infinix flagship.
This device would not stand comparisons with Samsung S9 which also runs Android 8.0 but it must be said that Infinix Hot S3 hits the pass mark with all these desirable specs.
The device is nicely designed, although not bezel-less, supports LTE, configured as a hybrid in SD Card/SIM slot, incredible for selfies and all. If you need to see if this phone is good enough for you, progress with me as we analyze step by step in this post.

Infinix Hot S3 Software
As I have revealed earlier, this device is the first oreo device Inifinix has produced. After the release of this device was when Infinix Note 4 saw OTA update to Android 8.0 oreo. Although skinned with the Infinix’s proprietary custom user interface — XOS.
Memory, Processor and Performance
This device houses an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor running at 1.4GHz and a corresponding Adreno 505 GPU for graphics rendering. Tecno is really trying to do a lot of things right now, this will be their first android snapdragon device.
Even though MediaTek has not been so below par, Snapdragon is definitely an upgrade. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM although there is news of a 3GB/64GB variant, this is unconfirmed. There is an SD card slot to further expand memory.
Display and design
Just like the Tecno Camon CM, Hot S3 is at an 18:9 aspect ratio. The is Infinix first shot at it while it also features 5.65 with full HD display resolution. It has 2.50 curve at the edges and a resolution of 720 by 1440 pixels with about 285 pixels per-square-inch. There is a slight resemblance to the S2 in that their edges are slightly curved on all four sides.
Camera
This device is an awesome one for selfies. It has an amazing zoom power on the front camera. It is equipped with a massive 20MP front camera with flash and a 13MP camera at the back also accompanied by a dual LED flash.
Battery
This is where I think the lowest point of this Infinix flagship phone lies. It has a very good 4000mah capacity. The battery is non-removable which enhances the sleek body design which is all good, but it has no fast charge.
This device has been reported to have no fast charge abilities, this will be a very big turn off for users. No one wants to spend six or more hours charging a phone anymore and I believe Infinix could have done much more.
Infinix Hot S3 Availability & Price
The Infinix Hot S3 currently costs about N50, 000 Naira for the 3GB variant and N61, 000 Naira for the 4GB variant. You could, however, pre-order the Infinix Hot S3 at Slot and it will be delivered in a few weeks time.
Verdict
Asides the fast charge absence on this device, Infinix Hot S3 remains a very good device. The Snapdragon processor with 1.4ghz octa-core processor is the specifications that cut it for me. This is a top device.
