Infinix Note 5 Will Be Receiving Android Pie Update Soon

A lot of Note 5 users are probably “mad” at Infinix right now, lol and this is because the company had already announced rolling out Android Pie OTA update late last year, November precisely and users never got to see an update. However, the company started rolling out Android Pie update for Smart 2 devices last year December and while the update is still being distributed, the company took to their Facebook XOS fan page yesterday to announce to Note 5 users that Android Pie OTA update will start to reach them via OTA update soon. How bad can soon get, lol…

Infinix seems to be more concerned about their newer devices and ignoring the development of older ones. This is one of those things I don’t like about the company, you can’t just manufacture devices and not give proper support. Devices like Note 4, Zero 5 and Hot S3 are qualified for Android Pie update but it shouldn’t be such a pain for its users if Infinix decides to deprive the devices of Android Pie update. However, devices from last year such as Hot 6 & Hot 6X, Hot S3X etc that launched with Android 8.1.0 Oreo will most likely receive Android 9.0 update

What to expect in Android Pie for Infinix Note 5

Since the Infinix Note 5 is an Android One device, we do not expect to see Infinix own customized os (XOS 4.0 HoneyBee) in the next OS update. The update will be based on Pure AOSP along with all Android P new features. I’ve tried a couple of Android 9 custom roms and they run pretty smooth with very good battery management, which is one of the things i look forward to see in Note 5 Pie update.

Additionally, Infinix Hot 5 users who upgraded their device to Oreo are now complaining over bad performance and slow charging and it seems Infinix will not be doing any about it the same way they did after rolling out lollipop update for Hot X507 users back in 2015. It will be a big disappointment if Note 5 should fall victim of such circumstance but in any case, users can always roll back to previous OS version or wait for patch update to address any bug that may surface in the new update.

So what do you think? is Infinix for real this time about the update or maybe this is another long soon to wait. Share your view and thoughts wit us in the comments and don’t forget to subscribe for more updates. Cheers
