Telecom company 9mobile previously known as Etisalat said to be sold to Leading Telecom company in Nigeria GLO on the 16th of January.
Just last year Etisalat was taken over by some group of company’s due to inability to meet agreements with banks on its ₦541.8 billion debt restructuring plan.
Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) has stated that there will be no shift or prospondment in the date that has been fixed and approved for the sale of 9mobile.
The NCC Executive Commissioner and Stakeholder Management said that the transactions and hand over of 9mobile to the new buyer must be concluded on the 16th of January, 2018.
9mobile was to be sold on December 31, 2017 but they appealed to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the NCC, asking for extension of date from December 31st, 2017 to January 16th, 2018.
Globalcom will now be the largest telecommunication being that its has in possession 9mobile facilities and database.
We hope 9mobile doesn’t end up like Econet(Airtel), if you can relate?. However, this also could bring about a change in the GLO network by implementing 9mobiles techniques used to deliver a satisfying service to subscribers.
