Quick Charge technology is one of the best upgrades in smartphones today. In a country like Nigeria where the Government is still striving to provide constant electricity, you just can wait for your smartphone to charge full quickly (max 1 hour) before there is another power blackout. But Qualcomm wants you to worry less about this as it introduces Quick Charge 3+ for faster wired charging om mid-range smartphones.
Qualcomm has been developing fast-charging technologies for years now, and its most advanced technology fast charging technology is the Quick Charge 4+ that is mostly found in Snapdragon 670 phones and above.
With Quick Charge 3+, Qualcomm wants to idea is to offer the same speeds as Quick Charge 4+ promising 0-50% charge in 15 minutes which is 35% fast than the previous generation, the Quick Charge 3.0 and supports USB Type-A up to USB Type-C cable. The new technology also supports accessories that support scalable voltage with 20mV steps from Quick Charge 4, a feature that Qualcomm calls Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage (INOV).
Quick Charge 3+ comes with backwards compatibility for older Quick Charge versions, meaning it will fast charge older devices using new accessories based on the new Quick Charge 3+ technology.
Qualcomm Quick Charge technology is already available for Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 & Snapdragon 765G, and will also support new Snapdragon platforms across tiers in 2020.
