Samsung to Begin Supply of OLED Displays For This Year’s iPhone and iPhone X Plus

Early this year, Macrumors reported LG displays will be supplying OLED displays for this years iPhone X plus lineups while sole supplier of OLED panels for the iPhone X, Samsung, is said to be still supplying the OLED panels for the 5.8-inch or 6-inch 2018 iPhone X models.

According to a new report from Economic Daily News, via MacRumors, Samsung will now begin production of OLED displays for this year’s iPhone X as well as the new iPhone X Plus next month.

The reports claims Samsung will double its production capacity in June, once production lines are rolling in May. If this report is accurate, it means that iPhone X and iPhone X Plus production is ahead of this year’s schedule , as it was not originally thought that Samsung would start production until the end of June. This should also hopefully mean that all three of this year’s iPhones will all be released at the same time, unlike last year.

Apple is not likely to announce the new iPhone line-up until early September, so we can’t know for sure until then exactly what to expect, but it’s looking very likely that Apple will be releasing an OLED iPhone X and iPhone X Plus, as well as a lower-priced LCD iPhone this year.
