Xiaomi smartphones have brought competition amongst big brands like Samsung and OnePlus. Xiaomi devices have dominated the Mid-range segment for some time now forcing even Samsung to come with a different approach to the Mid-range devices.
According to a recent report via Technode, the company’s CEO Lei Jun has hinted that Xiaomi phones will get a little more expensive soon as the company plans to leave the reputation for producing cheap hardware behind.
Lei said, “Actually, we want to get rid of this reputation that our phones cost less than RMB 2,000. We want to invest more and make better products.”
Xiaomi launched Mi 9, its latest flagship device in February, the same day with the Galaxy S10, however, the CEO Lei Jun said, the Mi 9 might be its last device to fall under RMB 3,000 ($450).
