You can’t Disassemble Microsoft Surface Laptop Without Inflicting a Damage on it

Microsoft Surface laptop is no doubt a must have Laptop. It’s got a great design, portable and has a good power management system. But the bad news is, the device is almost impossible to repair according to iFixit teardown Specialists.

You just can’t disassemble the device without inflicting a damage on it. Probably, this is because the computer has no screw holding it together. Its component are covered under a welded plastic shell

iFixit gave their verdict on this:

THE SURFACE LAPTOP IS NOT A LAPTOP. IT’S A GLUE-FILLED MONSTROSITY. THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT IT THAT IS UPGRADABLE OR LONG-LASTING, AND IT LITERALLY CAN’T BE OPENED WITHOUT DESTROYING IT.

Also, this computer scored a disappointing repair score 0/10 at iFixit, it didn’t score 0.5/10 even. iFixit reports that this Laptop isn’t designed to be repaired and users don’t get the opportunity to upgrade its individual components because they are all soldered to the motherboard.

We do like the Microsoft Surface Laptop a lot, but now that Microsoft is becoming more like Apple in terms of their repairability might really mean something to their customers. So if you at any point break your Microsoft Surface Laptop, you’re left with but one option, take it to Microsoft directly.
